A new, simplified process is now available for entities who wish to register multiple branches/sites within the boundaries of the Medical Waste Regulations. This optional process allows consolidating multiple sites into a single site and potentially reducing fees. See below for details. Registering MWG with One Site in Rhode Island If you are a medical waste generator and are registering one site or each branch/site for your company individually, please continue as usual. Go to www.ri.gov/DEM/medical_waste_generator and log in using the provided MWG-ID and Zip Code combination. hat you have registered for in the past for your site. Please do not create a new registration number if you have problems accessing the system. Send an email to Alyson.Brunelli@dem.ri.gov, and she is happy to assist you. Even though the new calendar year has started, please feel free to continue using your number while you proceed to renew your MWG – ID. Medical waste generators must pay a fee each year based on the amount of medical waste they expect to generate for that calendar year. Fees are based on an estimate of what you expect to generate for 2024. You can contact your medical waste transporter to determine how much was picked up last year. An email was sent out to the contact email provided to RIDEM when you last registered. If you did not receive the email with your login information and need assistance renewing, please email Alyson.Brunelli@dem.ri.gov.
